Rainmeter & Rocketdock
One of my favorite things to do, is organize; organizing my apartment, my files, the apps on my phone and the desktop on my computer.
For a while I was playing with some free software named Rainmeter and Rocketdock, to create custom desktops. The process taught me a lot about user experience and friction; how ease of getting where we need to be, can improve productivity, and my mood.
In a quest to keep my desktop free from clutter, but giving me easy access, I ran into a template for Rainmeter and Rocketdock named “Summer, Love + Cicadas” which came with a background and icon pack.
Community Made
While not a lot of customization was involved in this particular desktop, I feel this is such a great example of what community can accomplish together. The software, background and icon pack are all free and made available by the online community for the community.
