Background
Sunsafe, a family-owned business in Norrköping specializing in windows, sun protection, and garage doors, has been a valued client for several years. In 2020, I had the opportunity to collaborate with them on a project to modernize their online presence.
Modernization
Sunsafe’s relocation to a new location presented a unique opportunity to not only update their website but also attract a wider audience. The project focused on three key areas: modernizing their brand identity, integrating a robust eCommerce platform, and optimizing their website for search engines.
Brand Authority
Working closely with the Sunsafe team, I helped develop a modern brand identity that conveyed authority while retaining their core values. We introduced vibrant orange and green accents to expand their color palette and create a more dynamic visual presence.
User Experience
To ensure a seamless user experience, I meticulously planned and optimized the website’s information architecture. This included structuring the content for easy navigation, creating an intuitive browsing system, and laying the groundwork for effective on-page and off-page SEO strategies.
I also implemented robust content organization, utilizing categories and tags to improve content discoverability. To further enhance customer trust, I integrated Google ratings, customer reviews, and a compelling “About Us” story that highlighted Sunsafe’s family-owned heritage.
Change of Plans
While the initial plan involved a combined website and webshop, after careful consideration, we determined that separating them would offer the best performance.
Despite this change in direction, the project was a resounding success. Sunsafe’s owners expressed their satisfaction, stating that the new website effectively enhanced their brand image, making their family-owned business appear larger and more established to their customers. This outcome perfectly aligned with their initial goals.
Reflections
This project provided me with valuable experience in website design, brand development, and eCommerce integration. I am proud of the positive impact this project had on Sunsafe’s business and am confident that the modernized online presence will continue to serve them well in the years to come.
