Project Description
In 2015, I played a pivotal role in launching Woodland Works’ e-commerce website. This project encompassed crafting their brand identity, building a user-friendly website with an integrated webshop, and implementing SEO and content marketing strategies, including a unique influencer marketing campaign.
From Startup to Digital Presence
As a startup, Woodland Works, a Swedish company specializing in wooden accessories, entrusted me with building their digital foundation from the ground up. I designed a logo and brand color palette that reflected their focus on natural materials.
I then built a user-friendly website using WordPress, the Fortunato Pro theme, and WooCommerce for e-commerce functionality. Finally, I developed a comprehensive digital marketing strategy, including social media setup and influencer marketing campaigns.
Building a Search-Optimized Website
To enhance the website’s search engine visibility, I implemented on-page SEO by optimizing website content with relevant keywords and product descriptions. I also leveraged the Fortunato Pro theme’s built-in SEO features and ensured a technically sound website foundation. Furthermore, I organized website content using a clear category structure based on manufacturers and tags based on product types.
Content Marketing with an Influencer Twist
The “Introduce the Models” campaign aimed to boost brand awareness by partnering with Instagram models to showcase Woodland Works’ products and generate user-generated content. This campaign also provided SEO benefits by driving traffic to the website through influencer posts and backlinks.
To streamline the customer journey, I provided influencers with dedicated landing pages featuring product information, discount codes, and easy purchase options. Ultimately, my work for the website and digital marketing strategies reflect my goal to lay the groundwork for Woodland Works’ online growth.
Reflections
Collaborating with Woodland Works during their startup phase proved invaluable. Direct participation in supplier meetings provided me with valuable insights into the critical steps of launching a successful business. This project also highlighted the challenges of acquiring high-quality content, particularly in a non-native language. This experience emphasized the value of creating adaptable content templates for future projects.
